The beach is located under the Geropotamos bridge on the national road leading to Heraklion and is 5km from our hotel. It is a small but picturesque beach that combines sand and pebbles. On the beach there are umbrellas, sun loungers and a small tavern.

The Arkadi Monastery is one of the most important historical monuments of modern Crete. It is located on the northwestern slopes of Psiloritis at an altitude of 500 meters. The church in the center of the monastery is a two-aisled 16th-century church dedicated to Saint Constantine. The sacrifice of the besieged in the 1866 revolution with the Turks made the Arkadi Monastery a symbol of courage and freedom. Many relics of the monastery are kept in the Arkadi Monastery museum. You can visit it daily from 8:00am to 8:00pm in the summer.

Spilies beach is located a few kilometers east of Skaleta, it is formed in a small bay with pebbles with crystal clear waters and high vertical rocks. A characteristic of the beach is the Caves where the Mediterranean monk seal Monachus monachus finds refuge.

On the beach there are umbrellas and sun loungers and a small canteen.

Eleftherna is the most important archaeological site in the prefecture of Rethymno, which has not been fully excavated. The city was founded by the Dorians in the 9th century BC and was inhabited until the early Byzantine years. In this long history, it seems that its strategic location at an altitude of 380m. at the point where the roads that connected ancient Kydonia, Knossos and Psiloritis intersected played a role.

The cave is 145 meters long in a straight line and covers an area of ​​over 3,000 square meters. Its main development is towards the North and has been created by slow erosion of limestone rocks. The thickness of the overlying rocks is 25 to 50 meters. The accessible part occupies about two-thirds of the main volume of the cave. The length of the visitor's walking path is about 270 meters.
